Let's just... Take a step back, and relax.

Now, this isn't addressing everyone, a lot of people in this community are very cool-headed and civil. But some of you aren't.

I heard that a good friend of mine, Dilligence, was recently banned. Now, I don't know why, and I don't particularly care. I also heard that ZeP recently made a false threat about shutting down FAF forever.

and, I must say, these aren't good things. In hindsight, I feel really bad about starting that discussion on Mass Storages just because it caused ZeP so much grief. The guy already takes a lot of flak just for taking the servers down to fix something, or when releasing an update, then everyone complains about balance because Unit X is OP because it is 0.0029% more efficient than Unit J.

So, I would like to make a request. Stop attacking things. There are some of you out there that like change, and some of you that hate it, but it is going to happen. Climates change, weather changes, stock prices change, species evolve, worldviews become warped; and it may not always be for the best but at least it is something. But we have changed enough. So, for one month, I would like to humbly ask all of you pros and conservatives, as well as balancers, developers and advocates of change to just - stop. Don't post that thread about Mass Extractors, don't harp about the Restorer because someone spammed you to death, DON'T talk about MASS STORAGE. Just let what is going to become, become, and see how it turns out. Maybe you'll like it.

I've been a lover of FA and TA alike for quite a few years now, and if you keep up this quibbling I'm going to leave for greener pastures, and I'm not going to look back. Nobody cares about me, but that doesn't matter; I won't be the only one.

I totally agree with this. Just step back, play some games and do what we're all here to do and that is to have fun.

This is not true.

What is true is that I will drop patching FA if people don't want more patch, that's why there is a survey.

Also, if you think someone is OP, do the usual : Do it in every game you play, abuse it to death, and post the replays in the forum so we can investigate. If it's really broken, a quickfix will be released. If not, it will be discussed in the next balance period.
If it's not THAT OP but plain annoying, just wait for the next balance patch period to happen (if any).

The whole point of the system is that everyone can do something about something they hate if the majority (and me, separately) agree to it.
Whining in the chat or the forum is not the way to do it. Participating in the balance test is.

Good post.
I agree and i have to admit zep does this whole balancing very good. He has a great understanding of the game mechanics and whatever changes he made they have been really good. Lets give him some credits for this work and a big hug.

Zep u are our hero.

Dont take it personal if we complain about something. Its just that we love this game so mutch thats why we get so emptional about everything. See it as credit if we get upset ;)

The fact that FAF even exists is incredible and that's down to one man putting in a vast amount of effort for something he loves. The few changes that have made the game worse have been fixed very quickly, and that is also testament to Zep's commitment.

There are a couple of recent changes that I'm personally unsure about, but I have complete faith that if it turns out that they are actually broken, they will be fixed.

All hail Ze_PilOt, saviour of Forged Alliance! :D

It's human nature to be greedy (not a positive trait) in a world where we seem to obsess over material things perhaps sometimes we all need to take a step back and appreciate what we have.

I would say the community has evolved massively from the beginning, GPG closing down brought two separate communities together who eventually learned to co-exist. What has happened since then seems to be a growing downward spiral of greed and hatred from some of our users.

I don't think anyone disagrees with constructive debate, however there are channel & methods to do this in the right way rather than flaming and arguing.

From my perspective I am grateful for the good work that has been done here, FAF has become something very special (log onto Steam and play a game there to see the difference its huge!!)

For the continued expansion & improvement of FAF Zep and others need our support, its not a full time job for these people remember that, they weren't put here just to keep everyone happy.

So in simple terms, thanks for the effort, good job & WP!!

Everything will be fine around here so long as everyone drops the illusion that this is a democracy haha. And stop taking things so personal. Proposed balance changes by Zep and the other modders are not personal attacks against older players, their ideas / counter-proposals aren't personal attacks against FAF.
