By stress test, what I mean is, before a game officially starts, especially a 4v4 game, there needs to be an option that the host can somehow do a stress test (such as loading up a map with lots of units on it) to see how everyone's computers and connections handle it and if there are any people who are prone to lag horribly or time out.
The problem right now is the lack of information for a discerning host.
Ping doesn't tell you all that much because there's no indication that a connection won't start to lag out when it's actually transmitting and receiving a lot of data.
Sometimes more importantly, the host has NO WAY of knowing what kind of computers people have.
I swear, every time I ask what kind of computers people have, you'd think everyone on Earth owns an i7 with 16 gigs of ram. A host needs to be able to verify.
If we are going to make FAF better, then one way to do it is to be able to give discerning hosts the tools to filter out that one guy (who seems to be in every game always) who times out 7 minutes into a 4v4 game.
