Show unit icons off map

Is it possible to mod the game such that when units go off map, their icons will still be able to be seen off map? This includes even just gray radar icons. I ask because if this were possible, it could eliminate the ability of folks to exploit off-mapping effectively.

I realize there is a "fix" to off-mapping currently, that is the units that off-map after a short time forget their orders and then come back into map range, needing a new order after that point, but this fix also punishes instances in which planes inadvertently fly off-map. Being able to see unit icons regardless of whether they are on the map would be a much better fix, imo. Even if folks tried to off map, they would no longer be invisible on radar if they pulled it off.

No, that is not possible. As you may have seen in supcom 2, an entire retooling of the system was necessary to fix that.

Regarding my off-mapping fix, no, I tested it as I wrote it, and any bomber not intentionally forced off map will be able to complete innumerable passes before being forced to forget its orders.

I have yet to see a replay where a plane forgot his order while being offmap during a turnaround.

The script take the speed of the unit in consideration for the allowed offmap time, so even a spy plane running straight into offmap and turning around won't lose it.
