Aeon TMD

I'm not complaining or anything, the Aeon are a strong faction, but I was just curious as to what everyone's stance is on the Aeon TMD. I've noticed that in games, it has a bad tendency to cause more collateral damage than prevent it, simply spreading missile damage all over the place instead of have it focused in one place. Considering that shields are rather large, this usually means it plasters T3 shields with missiles.

but they're very very effective against a group of incoming missiles, also perfect against cybran missiles (which usually split into 3 when beeing hit by tmd)

Aeon TMD is, overall, easily the best.

I don't know if it's better or worse than the other factions. It's completely different.

pros:
- it's the only TMD that will save your ACU from a single group of 6 or so TMLs
- best against cybran TML

cons:
- if you put it under a shield, the shield won't be protected at all
- a single UEF/sera cruiser can take them out with ease because the missiles fire more frequently than the wisps. Same for grouped MMLs

I haven't seen aeon TMD work well againt navy.

I've always favoured Aeon TMD, mostly because as soon as your opponent builds one your TML attack is basically dead in the water.

The only likable thing about it, in my opinion, is how cool it looks. I've tried my best to find a winning position to place them, but even at the edge of T2 shields they just cause missiles to fly around the wisp and hit the shield.

I also must say, the unit kinda begrudges me because Tactical Missiles aren't supposed to be guided...

Really? They don't track targets, sure, but they're not unguided ballistic projectiles. They clearly are capable of course correction and flight control, how else would they fly straight up and then level out, and how else would they stay exactly on target, without any firing randomness? So it's not unreasonable that they could have their course altered - the Loyalist's TMD works on much the same principle.
