Missing elevation brushes in Map Editor

Postby orion_prime » 19 Dec 2012, 08:50

Hi all,

I recently downloaded Map Editor, and got it to work - it loads fine, however, there are no brushes in elevation editing menus.

Since I never used the supcom map editor before, it is possible that I just missed something...

I googled the issue and found only a few messages of similar issues both on faf forum and steam forums, however none of the threads I found had a solution. Any help?

P.S. I got map editor from here: http://viking.gurut.org/Map_Editors/

P.P.S. Anyone knows of additional guides to the editor besides that one PDF available at the same place?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Well the 'official editor' in the zip you uploaded is exactly what I have and it still has same problem - it works for most part, but I miss all brushes (elevation and water, maybe more), tho it seems to work fine with decals, textures, props and etc.

The 'unofficial' one I did not have and it seems to work - at least I can edit elevation, tho I did not try anything besides that yet... My impression is that unofficial may have reduced abilities, so I may have to try to switch between the editors working on the same map....

It sounds like you have not got the "Tool" window enabled.

In SC Editor
Ensure the Editor main window is minimised to 800x600 res.
Now load a map. Either Open one or Create a new.
Click 'View' dropdown, check that 'Layers' and 'Tools' are ticked,
On 'Layers' window select 'Elevation',
'Elevation Brush' should appear in 'Tool' window,
Scroll down and select 'Round1',
Brush 'Size' and max / min height values can now be set in lower part of this window.

Hope this helps

I have no elevation brushes there. There is only white, means its empty list.
I have used the editor before, but not with the steam version of supcom.

There are threads on steam forum too.
Did you download supcom from steam and it works for you?

Steam might have a different version, I have to check later.

No, I didn't. I bought SupCom when it was released and I had downloaded the map editor from GPGNet. I also can't remember if that just was an .exe that was downloaded or something else.
