Does anyone know the mechanics behind sacrifice?
Also does anyone know if there's a way to mod it?

It seems very underused atm for such a good idea.
Intentions for modification of next season of ladder

It is underused, but its awesome.
Early game you can throw up a PD instantly with just a few engineer.

Also later game you can make GC's almost instantly too.

Its only useful in desperate situations, you lose a lot if buildpower and don't even gain that much resources to whatever you're building. Add this to the fact that sacrifice is relatively slow acting, so isn't even that great when needed for surprise attacks.

The only real time it can be sort of useful is teleporting aeon sACUs with sacrifice upgrade and insta building a gc.

Im more curious whether the mechanic is mod-able ide like to play around with it and maybe give it a couple of seconds of the sacrificing units build power.

I think efficency should be increased to say 95% instead of 70%

100% would be pretty ridiculous, but 90% would be ok.

As it currently stands it is 60% of mass or energy, which ever is lower. Upping that would be worth testing. Would make Aeon SCUs more appealing for surprise GCs.

Another idea is to give the ability to more units, make it a core Aeon ability. This means that those T1 tanks you don't want the enemy to farm veterancy from now have a better use than ctrl-K and reclaim.

I wouldn't make it 100% as that's greater then reclaiming, 95% would give a 5.5% factional resource advantage to recycling engees on top of the saved build power so this may have to be balanced, worth testing though.

Giving more units the sacrifice ability is appealing but it goes against Aeons factional diversity of being highly focused units.
If you can give a good argument for it then maybe a mod but I cant see it being taken seriously.

But yeah where do I find the ability in the files? And if I wanted to say make it give 5secs of the units build power as well during the sacrifice would I have to learn LUA?

Ill take a look now and if its easy to mod ill release a couple of mods for it to test with.
