New Launcher Making it Slower to Find Ranked 1v1?

Hi,

Since everyone's been made to use the new launcher, I don't know if it's just me but it seems to have made it take a lot longer to find 1v1's. I'm 700 or so rating so it used to be almost instant, but now I'm waiting 5-15 minutes at peak times. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

I was thinking; the old bar on the launcher where it said someone is looking for a 1v1 just seemed a lot better than the current pop up spam, i think a lot of people might have it disabled because it was so irritating (i know i do). Is there any way to make it a bit more discreet while still being useful? Perhaps similar to the 1v1 notification thing on the old launcher?

hello corsair,old friendo,no-you're not alone,i am searching sometimes for 5-15 mins as well (i am 1.8k ladder) at peak times,and i rarely get games,i think there is a button for the notification about the search in downlord,and i am certain it still exists in the python one.

The continuous search algorithm was replaced with an interval system that creates matches every 3 minutes. The time between intervals is planned to be reduced during a coming server patch. It will be somewhere between 30-60 seconds.

I totally don't understand that, why does it do that? Does it make it faster to get 1v1s or something? Cheers

Because it’s a required change for the eventuality of team matchmaker. We’re shortening the interval time as there is no major need for a large one while we only have a single matchmaker finding games. If you want to read more about it there’s the tmm thread and the thread asking for the interval system to be reverted where the system is explained.

Ideally it creates higher quality matches as the system has a greater pool of potential matches rather than just the first one that immediately meets a threshold.

That does sound cool

At the moment though i'm having such incredible difficulty finding 1v1's; searching at peak UK time and it's just saying endlessly searching for ranked 1v1 and when it does find one it goes to that connecting screen and just stays there. I did manage to find one game earlier but since then, nada. Been searching for a total of probably an hour this evening, do you think it's a bug on my end or is it just the launcher/server/whatever?
