Can you imagine my delight when I went from my Dell Inspiron 1500 with a 15.4 inch screen to a widescreen 24" monitor!? I think 22" or 24" is where it's at, after you go much bigger, you start having to move you're eyes or even head to see things on the screen.

I tried 32 inch specifically for faf and it was a nightmare that gave me lasting headaches and sore muscles in my eyes.

I just upgraded to a 34" widescreen monitor. It's faffin' blyatiful!

Then you just sat too close to it. I've been using 30" 2560x1600 for 10+ years, but I have a deep desk... and behind that a shelf that holds the monitor(s). Note that I use 30" 16:10. 32" 16:9 is just junk; too wide and too low. But that summarizes the 99% of what is available now. Sadly. if my current screen dies I will replace it with a 43" 3840x2160 (16:9 sadly).

24" in 16:9 can only fully fit a portrait A4 sized document 1:1 when you hide everything else. A 24" 16:10 gives 28mm space beyond the portrait A4. The 30" comes close to showing an A3 sized document 1:1

I wish everything would move to 3:2. But sadly that is only seen on things like the MS Surface. So either a good screen with junk computer or good computer with junk screen...
