Quitting games due to map/player/whatever in ladder is losing on purpose and would get you banned if someone bothered to report you doing it. Why would it be encouraged?

Which maps do you not like, and why? From the replay vault, you are skipping maps that are small, medium, and large, so it does not look like a size issue.

Do you just not know how to play certain maps? Why do you think you won't have fun playing on those maps?

you can't "force" me to play maps i don't like,

i like big maps with no navy,

if the map in question has that i'll play it,

if its small and/or has navy i'll alt-f4.

twin rivers is cool, badlands is cool just remove the terrain in the middle. standing stones is cool, abhor is ok, and most of everything else gets alt-f4ed expeditiously. make an unranked matchmaker and i'd be happy to play it, but until then i'm forced to just keep rolling the dice hoping for a good map.

I’m not forcing you to play ladder. If you don’t want to play varied maps, then host a custom 1v1. I’m simply informing you that you’re doing a bannable action and if you keep going down that route it’s just going to eventually lead to a permanent ban.

are you guys naive enough to accept games as valid if they aren't longer than a certain period of time?

If you unrank games for the first minute you encourage people that:

- quit because map sucks
- quit because opponent is too good
- quit because opponent is too bad
- quit because faction is bad
- quit because opponent faction is good
- quit because it’s a mirror match
- quit because you don’t know the map

There is no reason to introduce that degree of control of the situations you “allow” to be ranked. It would make ladder into the joke that global rating has become.

we do have control, we could just quit.
the other guy is happy he could get a win, i'm happy because i don't have to waste my time slogging it on a map i don't like.
