Where are the flat maps with lots of mass and no navy or terrain features? also makem big

also... why do people like setons and gap, they look so boring because there is no way to bypass enemies or ways to be creative at a high level?

Air is your best friend if you are looking for ways to bypass enemies. You can get the map "Flat" from the vault. It is just a flat map with nothing on it but a mass point.

Flat maps are available but I doubt the games will be less boring than Gap. Seton's area already quite exciting. There's a lot of stuff going on if air drops happen. After that it does slow down in big naval battles and those can seem boring, yes. I recommend looking at other maps. Canis River is an example, though that's also played so much and so often you'll see it come down to the same thing frequently.

Anyway, if you think Seton's and Gap are boring, then Flat won't save you.

in all honesty while most setons players play in unoriginal manners, this does not mean the map itself is responsible for this. it's actually a map that encourages multiple and novel strategies. setons pros have a tendency to be beaten by non-setons players who play out-of the box strategies for this map.

but I get that at a lower level of play this is really rare/never happens.

don't despair though, if you host other maps be sure that there will always be those who are curious and will join. I'm guilty of liking setons but I love trying out new maps too!

I would assume a flat map would be played completely differently than either Gap or Setons, both maps try and funnel land units in a single area, which simplifies defending massively.

A flat map (with spread out mass points), would make firebases/turtling useless, which would bring out interesting strategies not seen in the same old gap and setons.

here is a question: why did "GAP" (a map whose purpose is to prevent the exact type of gameplay that a flat map would bring(or a flat map would prevent)) even become a commonly played map?

It's simple.
Because many people don't like the same thing as you,
and your opinion on how this entertainment should be consumed is not the one true thought to follow.
