Setting rating range for ladder1v1

I'm sick and tired of playing against players with 1000 lower rating on ladder and I'm sure as hell they are too. It would be fantastic if it's possible to put a range around your own rating for players you can be matched against. For example, online chess platforms have something like this.

A possible problem would be that the waiting queues would get annoyingly long but at this point I'm down.
Would love to hear some feedback for this idea - is it stupid or even possible?

The only time you'll play someone who's more than 400 rating below you is due to them being newer ladder players, meaning they're still within range due to their higher deviation. So there's already a limit but newer players start by playing people of average rank to see how they compare against the average player, so putting custom range limits would just mean newer players may not be able to find people to play against.
