I'm a software developer. Pay me, I'll make it. At least the core engine.
EDIT: I'm serious.
If you're a software developer suggesting to make the core engine of a AAA RTS all alone from scratch, you may be serious, but you're certainly not credible.
Now Chris Taylor is Chris Taylor. If he had wanted to make supcom3, or even another sequel to TA, he would've done it by now. His mind is on other projects. Trying to gather money to "convince" him to "come back" to the scene to make a supcom 3 is very delusional. It also implies that the presence of Chris Taylor is mandatory to make a good sequel to Supcom, which I don't really believe true.
Everyday I see lots of projects like this on the internet, people trying to get together to make a game - which is cool - but having in mind a AAA scope for the game with ridiculous expectations, and announcing prices which makes them look like they're not planning to pay their developers - which is less cool.
Like psychobob say :
Supreme Commander 1 including Forged Alliance hast cost about 10-12 Million $ ten years ago. So what do you think a developer studio can achieve with 500,000 Pounds?
Just make a google search, guys. You don't seem to have any idea how much it costs to make even a
small, indie videogame. Starting with a "Supreme commander" sequel with no actual knowledge nor cost prevision capacity is plain ridiculous.
You want to show there are enough people who would pay a nowadays AAA price for a new RTS like TA/PA/Supcom ? Okay. Make a survey. Not a kickstarter, just a survey, "yes" "no". Share it and see where it takes you, first. I would be curious to know what it gives.
