hey kids,

i think that whoever is gonna apply might want to consider how they would run a team, who they would pick for it, how to distribute the tasks and the like, since thats what gets stuff done.
also, to perform a bunch of tasks you dont really need to be PC, since most of them just involve asking X or Y form a moderator, when applying it would be nice to consider what you would do in addition to what you already do, and how you would enable members of your team to be able to do X or Y, such as giving some whats new access to the promotion team, and stuff like that.

so, good luck to all applicants :>

It should be a hard requirement for applicants to have prior experience of contributing to FAF in a way relevant to the councilor position, and applicants should be judged on what they have done already. Otherwise we'll get someone who is really good at writing fluffy optimistic promises but bad at everything else

From moon I would have wished a more serious application. I know that is the way you are but such an application makes me question your ability of taking the task serious. You could have made a more serious application.

Not sure if any developer is interested in that spot at all.

However if this were the case for the players councillor vote, we'd have had like half the applicants possible.

Also would software development be related to the promotions councillor position?

so software development isn't related to the promotion councillor position.
they are more likely to be related to game councillor and devops.

Councillor positions rely quite a bit on organizational ability and being able to form a reliable team that you can expect to meet the deadlines you set. While personal experience is certainly an important factor and one that should be emphasized in player applications, I don’t really see this position requiring a particularly specialized skillset that warrants restricting the applicant pool.

If people are overly optimistic then it should be no problem questioning them about the plans in their applications to see if they actually are thought-out plans. If it’s just vague statements to do things more gooder, it should be easy to call out.

You get the Councillor you vote for so it’s best to be active during the voting process.
