Finished the first run for my standard setup
3.8ghz 2666ram 12-13-13-13-44 Lobby score at 197 points avarage after 10 runs.
It took 16:31:22 to finish the replay at avarage from 3 runs.
To make it easier to bench I stop the game at 0:10 mark and then set sim speed to +10. Then start simultaneously the replay and the timer.
I hit the stop on timer the moment replay comes to halt.

Ram bench in attachement.

You're gonna be compared to a heavily OCed 8th gen. It's inevitable. So let's see what R2 can really do - Do you have the cooling, motherboard, and Samsung B-Die RAM needed to push to 4.3 all cores, 3200MHz ram @ 14-14-14-34 ?

First of all I don't have the PSU and ram to go for massive overclocks. I have cheap 3200mhz hynix ram, 6 year old PSU with only 8pin for CPU and probably won shitty cpu lottery draw unless it's the PSU that makes the PC freeze up at more than 4.125mhz.
The only proper thing at the moment is MB as it's x470 Master/SLI and 150 tdp cooling, I mean the whole PC is still ongoing project that I will finish in like 3-4 months depending on how much money I have left over from other hobbies(and when will the new gpu gen arrive). Not to say I can't care any more about ryzen getting crushed by top end Intel, it's just that I'm really curious about the in game speed as according to it my CPU handles it way better than it should compared to it's in lobby score.

Anyway here is the whole breakdown of the PC:
CPU:R5 2600 (3.8ghz all core at 1.2v I can go lower but don't really see a point in it or am to lazy to stress test properly)
Mb: Master/SLi x470
Ram:Goodram iridium 3200mhz cl16
Cpu cooling : BQ Pure rock
Gpu:1050(to be changed)
Case:Coolermaster Gladiator 600(to be changed)
PSU:Ocz stealthxstream 2 700w (to be changed)

Righto, guess I'll handle that when I get my 2700X, it will be under water and I'll be pushing hard to try and hit 4.4 for benching runs.

Please do a precision boost oc as well. What kind of mobo are you getting? I'm currently looking at the taichi (best caps, good vrms) but I'm not sure if it is suited for precision boost oc (or maybe undervolt instead).

i am so lazy to do more tests... need to choose one of those runs and repeat it with different RAM speed...

Since the 2600x comes with 16 mb of L3 cache, being faster then a 8mb cache I7 is quite realistic. Single core benches like pi fast mean squat in this context.

I can confirm that.
My FX-8120 OC to 4200 does not allow the use of all 8 cores without overheating the VRM on the motherboard, and since one unit of the four, with two cores, is way more voltage inefficient than the others, I have shut it down.
Testing with only 4 cores, and choosing those to be on the same half of the L2 cache, causes an exponential loss in performance on full speed replays, starting on after 100% cpu utilization.
Shifting the 4 core selection to use all L2 cache makes perfomance linear, without any noticeably excessive fps drops.
Regards.

This game uses just two threads. One for simulation, one for graphics. Having "all cores at 30%" is just the OS jumping threads to different cores. From that you can establish that limiting and FA to two cores and OCing the beejeezus out of them is the best way to get maximum simulation speed.

theoretically. now does "core jumping" deliver sufficient cooldown to translate into performance?... that is the question.

With right motherboard and cooling there should not be any issue with overheating. System should be able to run at full Turbo clock 100% of the time. I can have my i5-2500K 100% loaded at the 4 GHz OC for days on end without any issue or throttling

With the desktop users it's mainly the FX users with the throttling. It's what you get when you buy the cheapest that fits. Cheapest "8 core" CPU, cheapest "compatible" mainboard. Often it even states in the CPU compatibility list that the high Wattage 8-core FX's aren't really supported...

Of course they smurf the CPU bench in at full turbo before throttling, like the laptops also do
