A problem with move/build orders?

Postby TestPlay » 12 Apr 2018, 05:00

I have been playing a few ranked games recently and I have found out that some move/build orders would simply "cancel themselves out", while all the action is going on on the battlefield...

It can be pretty disastrous by the time you realize what has been going on, like T1 power generators not building, engineers stop moving/working with all the build orders gone, units not moving as intended, or an ACU not moving to a certain place where you have wanted it to go to?

This is similar to a "ctrl-shift right click" but that is not the case here.
Does anybody have this problem too?

I am always playing on a desktop and this has only oddly happened in a few of my recent ranked games...

I would think that this is a pathfinding issue but it has only affected me for a few ranked games in a row now and the results were "disastrous".

I just thought that it is strange as this has not been happening to me in the other ranked games that I have played...

can you send replay, and tell us what we need to be looking at (engie building pgen etc)? what time approximately.
so we can see if this is pathfinding or not. Also we might find other answer.

I can only recall 2 of the games which I most certainly knew of these issues:

1. Replay #7755007 in Seraphim Glaciers vs White_Knight (T1 power generators were not building from minute 6 to minute 7.30)
2. Replay #7763627 in Pelagial V2 vs Captainchlorgas (ACU not moving to intended location at minute 2.50 to which the move order simply cancelled itself out)

There were too many games played and as such, I could not really recall when other incidents happened...

That is indeed weird, couldn't figure out any particular cause from watching the replays but definitely an issue, didn't seem to be pathfinding related but can't really think of anything else either.

Yes it is weird indeed, and I am not sure what happened.
The map is not White Fire but Seraphim Glaciers instead too (since been edited).

can't see anything for the 2nd replay.
For the 1st one, it is pathfinding related. The com has the order of construction, and is being assisted. he get blocked and can't build the pgen, while engie have already started it. When the ACU finally un-stuck itself, and arrive to build, the building is already finished. And it start acting like a retard walking around.
There is no cancel of order, or whatsoever. It's a bug due to pathfinding + assist between units.
