Is the "Bigger Strategic Build Icons" Option working?

HI all, this is my first time on this forum in ages, so I hope this is the right area to post this.

I have found a setting in the interface options called "Bigger Strategic Build Icons" in which you can choose between "off", "bigger icons" and "bigger icons with techmarker".
The thing is, I don't see anything happening when change these settings. Does anything happen at all? is it broken? What was it supposed to be?
Restarting with having it changed did not do anything (that I could notice). So yeah, does anyone know what it could/would be?

It changes the size of the strategic icons in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
