Besides increasing deviation I think you also need to hide players otherwise it'll be pretty tilting to appear as rank 50 or something after not playing for a while. Proposal: after 6 months of inactivity your deviation is doubled and you get hidden from the leaderboards and need to play 10 games to earn your place back.

HOWEVER i'd also be fine with just cleansing top20 from the ancient relics. Iirc players used to have some hidden from leaderboard property so should be really easy for someone with database access to do a few very simple db queries if the feature still exists (i could remember totally wrong here tho...). I suggest this gets talked about in the holy council !!!

Btw nothing against keyser and zock and whonot

Oh also its practically impossible to reach zock rating with current matchmaking system since i cant even match vs 264 point difference. So if i were to get to 2.5k+ rating i could literally match only petry whos very rarely active in ladder

Edit: after relog was able to match but the limit is still 300 (as opposed to 400 previously) at least i was never able to hit 2k players despite searching at the same time

Sigma increase was already talked about and no one disagreed about it. That doesn’t mean it gets implemented anytime soon.

I don’t understand how you can hold both the opinion that it’s tilting to have perma afk guys on the leaderboard and then it also being tilting to coming back and being 1700 with 200 sigma rather than 1900 with 100 sigma. It really doesn’t need to be any more complex than a sigma increase.

The “play 10 games to get your placement!” is just window dressing on a sigma increase system, pointless to implement while we have minimal dev power.

You have to get into the Blodir mindset, not appearing on the leaderboard at all is vastly superior to showing up as a bottom of the barrel 1800 when people look at it.

Thomas gets it, except 1800 is below the barrel

Also yea no devpower. Thats why i proposed just cleaning top20 because that takes like 5min dev time if the hidden prop still exists

Hiding one inactive player or all takes the same amount of effort

It's done and I just jumped 70 places on ladder, sweet.

Also yeah +1 for reducing deviation for inactives.

I reactivated hiding of inactive players. Now you need at least 1 valid game of ladder / custom faf in the last 12 months to show up in the associated leaderboard. To show up again the script needs to run again. I'll try to schedule it daily as soon as I find the time.
