Implementation of ICE

Postby overshocked » 21 Nov 2017, 06:45

Hi,
I know the devs are very busy and this may have already been addressed but I am unable to find an answer by using the search engine .

What is the current state of the ICE for connection and can anyone give me an estimate of when it will be implemented? Ie 1 year, 6 months or a few years?

The connection issues have just really been getting to me lately. I'd also like to thank all the devs though for all the hard and free work they put into this game.

If you want to be up to date with the ice adapter progress then i recommend joining the FAF discord and keeping an eye on the #ICE text channel there.
On that channel the main dev of the ICE adapter shares the latest version of the test client and i make announcements about tests (also in #aeolus on the irc with the QAI bot)
The current status is that the adapter has been rewritten in C++ instead of java and the last iteration should fix a bug that can cause the adapter to crash and was released on the 15th of October.
Spoiler: show
Gotta make a new test round with that one now that i think about it. Usually those happen in the evening in euroland so if you are available then feel free to join us.

Ok thanks for the information I will definitely hop on discord. Do you think ICE will be implemented in the near future or will it be a while?
