To all of FAF,

Father time is a beast with a dagger slowly piercing my life... as I grow older in my days in this phase of existence it becomes ever-more-difficult to assign time to play this game. After 10 years of playing this one in particular I am starting to switch over to a role as a "creationist" and this tournament was a very valuable test in determining what path will go forward.

Before I get too deep I would like to personally thank the following particular:

1) Sheeo and all of the devs who dedicate their free time to keep this game alive

2) speed2, Exotic_Retard who constructed and maintained the Wiki and supplied me with knowledge about how to map through their write-ups, dealing with my pain-in-the-ass blunt and aggressive attitude

3) Tokyto_, turinturambar, This_Guy, Nexus, keyser, Blast_Chilled,Freedom, Death_Squad, CookieNoob, biass, Lionhardt, AchievedJaguar, Jackherer, icedreamer, and ozonex who helped me design and finalize the maps Maridia & Phaaze

(apologies if I forgot anyone up there)

mapping is an insanely large effort and I could not have done nearly anything without them...

4) Giebmasse for helping me set up the IRC channel, quickly answering questions on using it, and being a supportive person

5) BrinkOfInsanity and Yuri "The Professional" for their tremendous work casting the tournament with a great audience

6) Everyone that played in the tournament - you guys were great

That being said, it was probably the right move to go on from managing WWPC and working on some other efforts. Making maps and throwing tournaments seems to be a sure-fire way to keep the life blood of FAF going. That whole process which absorbed a lot of my life these past months was very worthwhile, leading up to this result.

Because of this result, I have decided I will certainly be making more maps and tournaments for the community. What I need to know now, here and then, is what we would like so see more of, or possible new ideas that can be brought to life.

Yeh i'm liking the idea of a shared army tourney, would be the crown of teamplay. Also you too thnx for the great tourney and your support to faf Morax!

there is no mod. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15022

can be done through cheating, but then you have to be sure your opponent/ally don't actually cheat (spawning unit, going in opponent view)

maybe there could be quick mod that halts cheating messages for certain types of cheating, then you can see if someone is actually cheating (no idea how to do that, just trying to guess if it is easy)

hmm im just thinking about this and if you can via sim mods toggle the ability for players to cheat then you can make a workaround mod to some extent:

1. start a game with teams set up how you want the teams to be.
2. game is paused or some effect of it like acus having 0 buildpower
3. players get a make me core player button which when pressed disables the button for anyone on their team
4. non core players get a delete acu button where their acu is deleted, and then SetFocusArmy is typed to whichever the core player is
5. insert some method of disabling cheating here
6. step 2 is undone in whatever appropriate method to resume play



now with some more thought this can be optimized, but the important parts are that it doesnt need lobby code to be changed and it doesnt need core engine functions to be changed, and all except step 5 is possible already, so a mod for this could already be made to work to some extent.

im still on my break so good luck to whoever wants to do it : DDDD
