idiots I joke. no but seriously though it's 2017.
how can people still not know what we've unlocked with ffmpeg + H.264 encoding in FLV or MP4 or MKV wrapper.
it's fukking nuts. thanks to the H.264 codec you can encode at basically lossless quality at a less then a tenth of the filesize. Finally the cpu can keep up with what's happening on the screen at 1080p and more and record it.
keeping up means no tearing.
and the smaller file sizes means you can stream at near lossless 1080p too over even basic 8M/s internet.
which explains why OBS opted for the ffmpeg + H.264 + FLV combo. (honestly i don't understand why everyone didn't wanna upscale MKV and roll with that but I'm down with whatever so longs as AVI dies in a fire)
but yeah. video tearing is a thing of the past. and I know what you mean if you use garbage like fraps Supcom will give you alot of that but then again any car game will give you a hundred times more of that in fraps.
just tell those streamers / gamers to adopt the better tech and stop using software level codecs and use the hardware level ones.
