at least some part of the big weight is on the right side!
i also think that the aftermath of breaking so many mods outweighs the benefit of easier modding. unable to watch older replays, game might black out when starting... even months later, returning players (or those who don't follow the news actively) will suffer from these problems and complain.

Maybe, but I would feel bad if I didn't at least try.

you are totally right viba!

incompatible changes..... mods broken....... replays not working....... PFFF
what a mess!

imagine what a release or game owner would say to these changes and developers if this
would be a real game with real engineers giving proper support!

"I told you so"

I raised this point before as well ( viewtopic.php?p=146841#p146841 ) and argued for reverting this change before it was deployed... it was ignored. I see 2 possible solutions for this:
  • implement an autoupdater that automatically updates mods when a new version is available and also updates to old versions of mods when older replays are watched (this will become less relevant over time)
  • revert the change
  • (not a solution) leave it like this
Check out the next level of maps: viewtopic.php?f=53&t=13014
For adaptivity, customizability and less clutter in the vault.

Not a surprise, FAF has become a coding playground for certain group of people since long time ago.
Every time devs say they are doing smth for players or making the game better, its just another excuse to push their own ideas

When touching a code that almost 10 years of mods relies upon you should be responsible for backwards compatibility especially when those mods are no longer supported by their developers. I don't know who makes decisions like this but they can't be taken seriously especially when the changes are made for the sake of making changes while basic things remain broken.
