FAF Unit database not up to date

Postby noms » 02 May 2017, 05:05

I last played FAF a couple years ago and only recently returned to discover many changes had occurred through the various patch updates...

Sera/Aeon T3 engys now have 30 build power (used to have 40). Commander T3 suite build power is now 100 (previously 126) and so on...

The database is not up to date with the latest patch and I think I found some changes (i.e. build time of t2 and t3 factories increased) which were not documented in the patch notes but I need to double check this...

Hi, the official database is outdated for quite a while. This one should be more actual: http://spooky.github.io/unitdb/#/

The official one is far more accurate than spooky's, the only problems with it are the recent changes
Which you can find with changelogs, if you're interested.

Spooky's DB has some miscalculations that's true, but in the official one there is still T3 mobile AA missing. I mean if it's called "official" then there should be found at least every unit of the standard FAF patch.
I asked for the source code of the official DB some while ago, but it seems that it went lost...

Right, the unit db represents a state of before the introduction of mobile AA, it probably is about 3 years old.

It's older but the number of patches that changed anything is almost non-existant, so...
It's still way more accurate than the spooky one. That one has errors in almost every single unit.

If you have FAF installed then you already have the source code. Opening the blueprints is a trivial matter.

Sorry, then i have to reword my post: I asked for the source code to generate the website of the official DB some while ago, but it seems that it went lost...

I know how to open and read the bp files but that's not intentional for a new player, especially if the total dps of a unit are have to be calculated!

The actual website is static since the source code to generate it from the bp files is lost, right? So why does nobody edit it manually to add at least T3 AA? (Btw. i'd try it if i can get the website files!)
