We have upgraded our infrastructure at work to fibre, with ridiculous amounts of bandwidth and pretty good latency if my networking tools are to be believed.

We have a long weekend coming up over this Easter, and suffice to say, I will be stocking up on munchies and dragging my sorry old arse to work, PC in tow, to teach y'all whippersnappers a lesson!

(Not likely, but I am geriatric, curmudgeonly and treacherous... you have been warned!)

Watch out for RocketRooster in the FAF lobby, I'd be honoured if someone could show me the ropes. Never done this before!

I took my PC in to work this morning, installed the client and whatnot, it all went without a hitch. I then logged in and experimentally joined a game lobby. Insta kicks from >800 pings.

I don't know what's up, we have sub 200ms pings to our servers located at our European subsidiaries, so I'll need to investigate this and figure out what's happening. Could be that our ISP is shaping UDP traffic in a non-optimal way for gaming.

I have added port exceptions over the DMZ and it all seems fine but I'll be highly disappointed if I can't get to play my favourite game online.

Either to pad the global rating or to checkout some BO on certain map against live player? And I think that you should refrain from going against 1300 players from get go as they will mostly wipe the floor with you unless you had a go at the game before with good results. If you want to play 1v1 then you should consider ladder games.

I had a rematch against DarkMatter, I went first air and nearly won... but got cocky and allowed my com to be whittled down. It was VERY close.

It was a rock/paper/scissors thing, although he still pulled off the win.

Another noob question. The client is taking longer and longer to connect to the game lobby - and I've noticed that the chat lobby is becoming more and more populated as people go online. Are the two connected in any way and is this symptom normal?
