So on a more serious note compared to the shitfest from 2 days ago.

Can i ask why people are getting kicked and banned from aeolus just for using "offensive" words. 'cancer' i can slightly understand, for obvious reasons, but the fact that 'cock' and 'asshole' give you an auto kick is just ridiculous imo. Cunt, retard, and all sorts of other swearwords are allowed in the meantime.

Also, why even banning words in the first place? I understand we need a level of ethics in aeolus, but by banning words it only has an opposite effect (as you can clearly see).

About 'the c word', as we should call it now if we don't want to get a kick: I understand that some people really despise the word, and i respect that, but only banning this one word will give the word even more attention and will only make the word have an even worse reputation. You're making the word have a stronger impact by giving it more attention. There are tons of other diseases out there which caused many deaths, but we don't see those banned.

Well as i said, i can understand the banning of 'cancer' to a reasonable degree, but banning random swearwords like asshole or cock just didn't make any sense.

If you want to do something like this, you have to at least give people a list of what is banned. (Note I am using "you" to refer to the moderation team as a whole).

I mean the only reason we figured out cancer was banned was because soviet had his aeolus quiet for like 3 hours. This then got us to say random words in an attempt to figure out what is allowed and what is not. But again, I myself would at least prefer some logic going into the words that are banned as the current way of doing it is just a joke.

Generally the issue of diction seems to be something that is dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

To paraphrase a Supreme Court ruling, "I don't know how to define trolling or being offensive for no reason from just using a word without intending harm, but I know it when I see it."
