Some general Q's

Still on the never ending learning curve that is FAF, can anyone shed some light on the following please?

Is there a way to rotate pd on placement? Eg Ravagers face south on completion but you'd rather have them facing north. As opposed to building, then manually rotating them using a ground fire to the north.

How do you ensure a quick rebuild of a unit rather than a reclaim and rebuild. Eg your GC is 10% health so you want to selfdestruct it and then rebuild it on top of itself so it starts at 50% (?) built. But you don't want to reclaim the mass into storage and then build from 0%. I thought it was as simple as build the new unit on top of the old one but can't get that to work.

Is there an instant self destruct as opposed to the 5 second ctrl+K ?

Is the faf unit db up to date?

How do you set a tml to instant fire on missile completion at a specified target until that target is dead?

Trying to understand shield and their recharging while being assisted. Let's say my shield has t2 eng's helping it while under t3 arty fire. I've noticed at some % (not sure which) the shield bubble is too depleted and the engy's stop and wait until the shield recharges itself to a certain % (again not sure which). Anyone know these %'s?

Also any mods to help with spotting what upgrades enemy acus have? I still can't tell at a glance, especially if I only have a second to see before a scout gets killed.

PDs always face the center of the map the only way to change that is manual groundfire in the desired direction.

You can only rebuild buildings. Placing a repair command on any dead building will do the trick.

Insta ctrl+k exists. If you open your keybinding menu ingame (f1) and scroll down until you find self distruct you will soon find the insta self destruct too.

The values in this db are up to date but a lot of calculations are off. (mostly dps)

Once the shield goes down you cannot assist it anymore.

There is no mod (that i know of) that tells you such vital information. You have to take a look at the enemy commander and it's hp to determine what kind of upgrade he has.

Most questions already answered, about the last one. With Notify (mod that puts message in chat about ACU upgrades) you can get small icons in the lower left part of your screen indicating what ACU upgrades the ACU has. Naturally this doesn't work on enemy ACU's as that would be free intel, I believe its shows teammates ACU and your own upgrades in-game and when watching replays all player ACU upgrades.

Also, lets say I am UEF and I am taking over another players base which has been destroyed that was Cybran (not uef basically). If there is the wreckage of a cybran t2 factory, can i start building a t2 uef factory on it and start at 50% built?

To answer both: you can't.

A building can't be built on top of the same building of a different faction, and TMLs are always manual fire. You can use the shift-click function to queue several launches at the same target. Each missile does 6K damage so if you want to take out a T3 Pgen, give two orders with shift.

To answer your question about building things starting at 50% in the strategy idea: building something starting at 50% gives you a 50% mass reduction. Reclaiming things gives you back 81% of the original mass cost. So mass-wise, it's always better to reclaim and rebuild, rather than build on top of wrecks.

The only time you want to do the 50% building from wrecks is when mass is not a factor, but energy and build power are. If you've got a positive mass income, put more engineers on your new experimental. If you still have a positive mass income, put even more on them.

So if you have a GC wreck you just ctrl-k'ed, then you reclaim the old wreck while building the new one. If reclaiming isn't useful because you've got so much mass, it's a sign you need more engineers or more energy.

actually PD's face the center of the map until you've encoutered enemies. then they are built facing the closest target so that they immediately start firing upon completion.

When power stalling does it affect the engineers/tents build speed?

Specifically for example if I am rich with mass and throwing up a t3 pgen to solve a -1000E situation.

Or to put it another way, does power stalling only affect mass extractors?

And, bombers can hit boats right? For some reason i thought only torpedo bombers could :oops:

The build time of all units, engineers and so on will increase a lot.

as this is a simulated projectile game .... technically speaking ... bombers can even hit submarines.

If you ground-fire them: that is.... make them drop their bomb on a specific spot on the water you can even make this happen at will.

What are the keys for the camera controls and most importantly the reset view key? I always like when Gyle and Heaven do their cinematic views, would like to do so myself!

Also, saw Heaven level up a CZar by stopping it and then ground firing as it was being attacked by asf's. Jaw dropping stuff. Does this work with all attacking air? Is it just luck that they flew into the beam? How did he ensure he would get those kills??
