FA Executable?

I've read in the forums that FAForever uses a different execuatable than the stock 3599 game.

Can anyone tell me what the differences in the executable are? Are there bug fixes involved that could benefit a stock game?

EXE changes are a few of the most hardcore exploit fixes, as well as a simple counter to ensure replay backwards compatibility. 99.99% of FAF's changes are in the lua files.

I think they were probably referring to the fact that there is another FA executable within the FAF folders that, when used, will draw from FAF's files instead of whatever version of FA you installed on your computer. It's quite useful, playing the FA campaign with FAF balance, offline testing grounds, etc.

I was told that the executable itself is the exact same as the original executable however and the difference in behavior is because the files it draws from are different.

I wasn't able to get the campaign to run properly using that FAF Executable. At the very end of each mission the game would hang with no option screen to accept the victory. I had to play it with vanilla FA which was average. The campaign game play was good with FAF balance though.

Well if you want to play campaign, you should use the coop section in lobby. (can also just play solo, not required to play with more people)

Since a bunch of changes happened with FAF so that the old campaign missions don't really work properly with it anymore.
So you should simply use our updated version of the missions.
