This guy DDOS'd another player

Postby cicicicico » 08 Feb 2017, 04:00

So, I was playing setons and an hour into the game this guy DDOS'd another player causing him to lag out.

This is rediculous behavior and I feel that it should be dealt with accordingly. The guys username is ***********. [GORTON] Edited out.

Besides that the player was generally rude and childish while playing. Really frustrating situation because the player that he ddosd (the chosen one) ended up having to leave. He even bragged about it afterwords.

I have a screenshot for proof just pm me for the link. I cant upload it because im a new user.
Thanks

How can you be sure if he DDos'd the guy if he was joking around all game?

Either way, you should be private messaging a moderator or using the report form for admin actions, tho try to confirm he actually did that before sending

A friend of mine, did this to me once. As mostly a joke, because we suspected it was possible.

We decided to work out how to do it once. We also figured out that some people are more vulnerable to DDOS than others.

Probably ISP and router differences.

I am just here to tell you its very easy to do, if you have a little bit of technical expertise. The only real trick is working out the IP of your target, which isn't that hard if you figure out how to get them from the game. None of which i am sharing.

Most of the time if the other person has a good connection/setup, the evil doer alone can't DDOS, however there are still ways. Especially if the scum bag is willing to pay a few bucks.

You don't have to figure out anything just ask Google for the software (there are plenty on sourceforge) and if your upload is greater than your targets download it will crash them every time.

Not sure how this did not get noticed before.

Please:

- Don't accuse people of this stuff in public, please. We don't want witch hunts.

- Pm a moderator either in the client (white /purple at the top, excluding AeonCom and QAI) or in the forum (irc moderators group)
