Maybe for cybran some lower survivability on long games :
- Weak and need to upgrade shield system.
- low health and no shield on ACU.

Aeon seems to be preferred by high rated players.
I cojure that UEF is preferred by new players.

Aeon has consistent 50+ win rate in ladder, UEF has consistent 50- win rate in ladder. This would support this thesis.

Aeon is popular among high rated players most likely because of all the strategic options they have ( good experimental land, two game enders, quantum optics, good air )

UEF is most newb friendly, their only drawback is really its weird land experimental, which is not bad at all.

Cybran in team has no redeeming qualities other then ML rushing. stealth is mostly minor annoyance, while weak shielding, weak t3 arty and no game ender is a big isue.

Seraphim seems more like a weird aeon with an experimental that is worse then that of Aeon.

Faction Popularity in Ladder 1v1

Are you sure that those factions are correct? My impression is that Cybran gets played a lot in ladder. Spot checks in the replay vault show the same.

There are lots of people that just spam UEF and Aeon. See FLOOD, a 1k rated guy with 5354+ ladder games that only plays UEF.
Sadly he hasn't helped the faction's win ratio.

Aeon and UEF are IMO the easiest faction to work with.

I didn't actually check which faction was which. In the DB the faction is just recorded as a number from {1,2,3,4}.

I assumed the mapping was:

washy made some similar graphs last year, and the faction ids he used were

1=uef, 2=aeon, 3=cybran, 4=sera

5 is random and 6 is nomads, but sometimes its not, so things are kinda strange xD

tbh just looking back through this thread is somewhat interesting, comparing them now vs a year ago
