I don't seem to get around to as many ladder games as of late, compared to how I used to, though for the last several months since we had the awful ladder bug a while back, I seem to notice a significant change in the overall calculations in winning/losing. I do not expect to earn many points in winning against those my rating or lower (especially for the latter), and yet I occasionally get a game that will severely punish me for a lost, surprisingly even to those equal to or greater skilled than me. My average points earned will scale from 4-8 for my wins, and a shocking deficit of on average 5-13 points (I've seen games nearly lose me 20 points against someone 100 points higher than me, and boy I was pure salt ).
The tendency therefore is that if I can even get more than 3 games on ladder, I tend to get stuck in a ceaseless cycle of winning 2-3 games, and simply lose them all at the cost of one loss. Nearly 2 months ago I endured having escaped from sitting at 1270-1280 for 3 months, and now I am simply repeating that for where I am in the ladder stats (1310-1320); playing just to sit in this constant cycle seems rather tedious, and it makes me question whether there is any reason at all to continue playing ladder, when I cannot even reap the rewards gained to be tossed in just a flash.
Am I the only one who has been grinding in this thing? I know there are various examples of pure shit of ladder rating changes from the other topics, I am simply curious as to how many others recognize this ongoing occurrence, and whether or not that's favorably intended or not.
(Ignore this rant) And god damn, 7/8 attempts to even connect to a ladder game! I'll kill la bitch!
