I just said what I like, that doesn't mean I would stop playing if we go back to a large map pool.

I stopped complaining about maps long time ago. Yes, sometimes i would say that i dislike a map but it was nothing compared to people like Nexus who complain about map being cancer every 2nd game. And then go on about it in aeolus.

But that is awesome. I want 50 maps so you don't do this, and noone does this.

If there are only 15 maps, then people will carve out must have build orders.

And then I HAVE to do the same to compete.

What about we all just learn how to play generically instead of all that pro rehersal of individual maps?

Mad`Mozart wrote:"I dont wanna learn 50 new BOs" or "I dont wanna learn any BO at all" yeah right

the first of the two sounds really reasonable to me.

I don't think anybody here is asking for the latter.

Thank you very much! I was pretty close to getting back at it but I got too many other things to worry about atm.
Besides, I'm looking forward to the next 2 or 3 more balance patches and hopefully some ease of use features (like area commands). My faction is definitely Seraphim but they need some love imho.

Every RTS has BOs, timings etc. If you want to get good, they are really map specific as well. FA just seems to have a more complex eco then most other games, so there is more to learn.

People with high amount of games will have a rough build order figured out for every map anyways and gain an immense advantage that way over people with less experience

Yeah but eventually people will realize there is a good set of basics that can be followed everywhere, learn the small differences per each map, and then gain the ability to innovate and become a good player.

The small map pool restricts the development of players and that irks me beyond belief as we are in desperate need of people to stop being crap at this game.

Actually i have seen so many players in ladder who reached 1800-1900 and failed to improve. Usually they have very strong BOs for generic land maps but whenever there's slightly unusual map with different meta, they play worse than 1500 :D We had lots of such kind of maps already in rotations but every time story repeats itself. Generic 10km is awfully dominant meta and for most people learning it = learning the game (then complain about cancer maps and quit game/ladder). Actual good players that can innovate and play different maps wont appear anymore.

I'm perfectly okay going to Theta Passage or Finn's Revenge for all eternity. The game called 'Chess' only has one map, no one complains. Not much different. Just how I see it. The actual game is hard enough, don't need abundant map retardation making it harder. Learn all 800 maps, when you're half way done we'll add another 800. Gotta keep you 'good'. Blah blah blah adaption. Not here to prove myself to some unknown humans online.

Not worth the effort in my opinion, especially on a game almost no one knows about. Just rather play the game and have fun. I understand people like to test themselves, but I rather just play the game instead of adapting to 10000 changes every battle. That's not fun to me... Guess what? That's perfectly okay.

IE: "let's play chess during an earthquake, hurricane, hail storm, or and sand storm. Hey you gotta adapt. Good players do it. "
Sorry I rather not. Just not for me.

I had a thread on a map selector that I wrote myself. It randomly selects 12 maps out of 33 that are ladder eligible (more can always be added) that will be the ladder pool. If such program is run every week, it will allow people to play on 12 new maps each week. The good part about it is that it is not biased towards any map and that map selection takes a second.

P.S.: better fix all functions of the FAF client first, then go over to ladder.
Don't complain about that which you aren't willing to change.
