PLEASE remove PING from CPU

Postby Masyaka » 23 Jul 2016, 11:19

Im so done of damn noobs joining a game that i have connected with not another host that cares his time really much, and screaming OO MASYAKA 450 PING :o :o :o ITS VERY HIGH HE WILL LAG VERY MUCH KICK EM

I want to PING word being removed from CPU, the ping bar never shows up so people think thats its ping, meaning 450 ping = bad even at 3v3, i've already got kicked for PING in 3v3 rooms just cause of some unexpierenced host. I've never saw this bar so whats the point of putting the ping word near the CPU? Well, lets guess it sometime shows up and theres no word PING near CPU, once you mouse over that bar, it will say that its ping. And CPU bar will say its CPU not PING.

Remove damn PING from this word and put ping tab instead of CPU tab...

because both can be displayed, ping (net lag) and cpu score (which is responsible for sim lag)
afaik it's only displayed if the numbers are worse than a certain threshold though

Notebook has poor AMD A4 dual-core 3 Ghz

desktop is more poorer, has intel pentium dual core 2.2 GHz

but CPu doesnt affect ping, it affects only speed of the game but not ping, EVER

remove ping, mostly players kick ppl with hight CPU just cause they thing they will lag.

I have no idea whether your request has merit or not, but the way you're asking would make anyone want to say no.

I assume you're not 7 years old, so stop talking like a spoilt litle brat.

im not asking to remove the tab, im asking to remove the PING word from it, because its not related to ping. Ppl even with 500 games still think that this tab is ping

I think the problem here is the double meaning of lag in supcom. There is lag (slow cpu causing sim speed to drop) and there is lag (sim stutter caused by something network related, usually a bottleneck or high/spiking ping). It sounds like people are kicking the OP for simspeed lag, but since they are saying "lag," he/she is interpreting it as network lag, and blaming it on only his cpu score showing.

just correct them on it and move on.

i'd say 90% of FAF users can differentiate when it's showing ping and when it's showing CPU and are also aware that most of the time it's showing CPU so what does it matter?
