"Connecting..." forever but it never connects

Can anyone advise on this issue? It's been a problem for weeks - I can usually not tolerate it long enough. I just give up...

The way you wrote your title and post I'm not sure you realize but I'm completely incapable of telling if this issue happens before FAF login screen, after FAF login screen, during Aeolus load, during map/mod download during lobby connection or what?

I'd ask for a debug log but whether I should or not depends on the answer to the above.

It happens once I am entering the game. The game is loading and it just says "Connecting..." or sometimes "Setting up automatch" without ever connecting me to a game.

In this case go here and do this :


then try again

then upload the .log files under here :

notice it's "program DATA" not "program files"

bundle them as a zip and upload them in your next reply.

also try emptying the mod folder at :


and renaming the Game.prefs file :


then re-launching the forged alliance from steam or windows (NOT FAF!)
just to re-generate it then closing it and trying again with FAF

that's kinda the point. you have to redo all your settings.

it doesn't take that long and it's worth it if it means it works on FAF thereafter.

Thanks. Do you know when that is? I can't speak for anyone else, but the failure of the FAF client to work makes me stop playing most days of the week. I may give up sooner than the new client arrives.
