New player, how to get experience?

So found FAF a week or 2 ago, been playing around with the AIx's but they're getting a tad boring. I've watched a LOT of the replays/casted matches of players far better than I, learning from the 1500+ rated people. Now that I feel fairly compfortable starting to take this into some actual matches...I've been trying to join team games (not a fan of 1v1s) and have the ominous "0 games, 0 rating" next to my name...and usually get kicked/assumed to be a 1500 smurf. How exactly are us noobies supposed to get in on some games? Yes I've been trying to join the "all welcomed" ones...not much luck.


Any tips, am I missing something? Any advice appreciated!

Host your own games is my suggestion, or, play ladder and ad that one around

Also, might be best to throw out any meta learned from AIx games, its a different ball game

Usually, "all welcome" means all welcome. Just saying.

Apart from this, try hosting your own games. If you're the host, you decide who plays. I would also suggest that you don't overlook 1v1 games. Players probably wont mind playing 1v1 against you, and this will get your game count up - and give you a credible rating.

The main issue with having 0 rating 0 games is that you are an unknown quantity and this makes you impossible to balance - and when games are imbalanced you can let your team down cause frustration, and throw games - because you don't know enough to play effectively in the team, and probably don't know the meta-game for each map.
