sorry if this is in the wrong area not sure where to put this. i just got fa yesterday so i'm a newbie but i did a test to see if my computer could handle fa multiplayer. i went to a sandbox skirmish on a 81x81 map with a 500 cap(i haven't seen a replay were some reaches this on there own if i need to go higher please tell) and spammed 479 scouts the rest was buildings and it ran smoothly no lag as long as i didn't zoom in on the scout blob based off this am i good? i only intend to do 1v1 matches.thanks for reading

Most likely yes. But to better answer your question, it would be helpful if you told us your system's specs (using a tool suck as CPU-Z to identify them if you aren't sure) - so long as it's a relatively recent machine, it should be fine.

Note that if you have low FPS while zooming in (use the "/" key on the numberpad to toggle FPS on and off in game), then it may be advantageous to lower your visual settings in the options menu. It won't have as much eye candy, but the FPS will be higher and you'll be able to more easily control your units.

Open the console (usually the "~" key on US keyboards) and type "ren_shownetworkstats" to view your sim speed. This number needs to be at least 0 to ensure a smooth online game experience, and is mostly determined by how fast of a CPU you have. This is almost never an issue in 1v1s, but in massive 6v6s or long AI games, even the beefiest PCs will eventually be negative.

Lastly, network bandwidth will be the last consideration. This generally isn't a problem for 1v1s unless you are in China. :)

The main Grpahic options to turn down till you get to a comfortable framerate (besides resolution) are:
Anti Aliasing (turn off)
Shadow Quality (Med, Low or Off)
Texture Quality

*Also this thread might get more eyeballs in Tech Support if a mod wants to move it.
