Idea - Rejoining Supcom Game due to Connectivity Dropping??

Postby AlpaxJ » 27 Feb 2016, 22:27

Hi,

Just an idea that i would like to put forward for Supreme commander. I have come across multiple times people drop out of games because of losing connection to other players. I was thinking if the developers could maybe introduce a new function or button that could allow a player to rejoin the game if the connectivity drops?

I have had in the past lost connection over Killer Wifi which required Turning off and On the wifi on my PC. Just thinking when this happens, if it would be possible to put a new feature to rejoin/renew the Supreme commander game (connection to the players) instead of waiting to eject the players.... if that makes sense????

No idea how easy this is, but would be a benefit to those who lost connection but want to rejoin the game again.

Any thoughts on this, just an idea.

It isn't easy, I'm not even sure it is possible, that's why it hasn't happened in the nearly 10 years this game has been released.

This rejoining wont be possible without access to the game engine, which is not possible right now and doenst look it will be any time soon.

Absolutely possible. It would be clumsy though and require redownloading the game state which would require a non-trivial download. But doable, and the relevant tools already exist.
