I would find this useful if I could play this game natively. I hope someone else does. Comments, hate, and suggestions welcome.

Player name string must contain only english alphabet characters. (en_US.UTF-8)

fyi "-" and "_" are allowed also as numbers, just use some regex like "^[a-zA-Z0-9_-]+$"

It's not working for me as there are too many "voodoo maps".

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

The goal was to be able to find(and download) replays by specific players.

Mephi -
There is only so much information you can store on one line. Besides, the real information is stored in the replay itself, no need to duplicate that. Players can download the demos by using the search tool, then process them with FAF Chart or the Online Replay Parser for more information.(or just play them in the game)

db -
Sure. The intention was to prevent large challenges to the database -- that is, to prevent having all 4 million lines return as matches.
For the FAF files, I don't mind uploading it somewhere if you want to grep against it on your own computer.

Aulex -
Sounds very interesting. I have no doubt that someone who knows how to code(you) can improve on the crap I have written.

Voodoo -
You probably have your own replays(unless your hdd crashed or something). temporary and incomplete: http://fpsplaybackdemos.net23.net/faf/voodoo.htm

My primary computer never touches the internet. Any game that requires the internet is not worth playing as the permanency is unlikely. FAF is one of the many exceptions as it is meant to be an online-only, multiplayer add-on to the real game. Although this prevents me from being able to play FAF myself, I hope my tool helps others enjoy this cool game.
I have 2 Linux(Ubuntu and Fedora) computers laying around too; one of which I use very often, but I don't play games on it.

I hope to add more replays to the search tool soon...
