does the directory exist: C:\Users\Sam_admin\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\SupremeCommander\Maps
give it full permissions
give link to the editor so we can get the code for it

So much for the "new editor" then... anyway thank you to have taken the pain to report in the original thread, in case the author wakes up and continues the work on it. 8-)

No - you're not a lost cause. I've been using the Hazard Marker Editor for several years and still do - a lot. It's a great tool but it has a couple of quirks.

First off - don't try and edit any map with more than 8 start positions. It simply can't do it. There are ways around that, but that's another topic.

Secondly, exactly where are your maps presently located ? As the OP indicates, it's looking for your maps in your USERS directory structure - which seems to be the root of your problem. If that is so - you MUST run the editor as the Administrator.

Thirdly, there are a whole set of the original FA maps which cannot be edited in their original directory - you must turned off the 'write-protected' status of those flags.

Let me know how that works out. We'll get this straightened out.

My maps are located here: C:\Users\Sam_admin\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Maps

I have FaF and Fa located on my other hard-drive.

You might try and cut your MAPS directory from where it currently is and paste it into your FA directory on your other drive. That's where my own are located and it's quite a bit easier to find.

**** DEFINITE SOLUTION ****

If you simply create the folder it's telling you it can't find - the program will begin working - and will find your maps wherever you may already have them.

ie: 'C:\Users\Sam_admin\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\SupremeCommander\Maps'
