gpu power saving - ui lag

Postby SeraphimLeftNut » 04 Jan 2016, 22:58

Another source of ui lag is the gpu that is underwhelmed by what the game is giving it, decides to turn down its power level. Of course you then go to quickly zoom in and out and it has to wake up to do this properly.
See the attached image with the appropriate data.

Depending on your GPU this may or may not be a huge issue or an issue at all. Use a program such as invidia inspector to diagnose this.

The solution will depend on what gpu you have. The solution for me is to slightly change the clock speed of the gpu (up or down). Also changing the performance to "high performance" helps but doesn't completely fix this.

As always FU to all the "smart" power saving devices.

PS If more people begin to admit that UI Lag is real I might make a compilation of all the different fixes so that you can mess your system up. I won't be doing that unless there are many others testing and suggesting a solution, since I don't want to be the sole responsible party.

A+ Work TA4Life!

I hope people stop being so skeptical about improving your FA experience. It's possible, no matter the machine! Soo many different things you can do.
