"APM is short for "Actions per Minute" and is an average or instantaneous measure of the rate at which a player can perform actions" - Liquipedia
How to measure your APM properly
- 1. Download, install and run Desktop APM http://www.desktopapm.com/
2. Search for a ladder game
3. Check your APM from the Desktop APM Timeline
4. Post your results in this thread! (preferably with your rating and the map you played along with the replay id)
Why not just use replay parser?
The parser only has access to information in the replay which means leaving out a bunch of what you are doing, Desktop APM will measure all actions taken while in the game. Please take note that things like lag before game start, and players typing while in game (etc.) will still affect your APM significantly - Desktop APM is not a perfect solution, but a fairly good one.
I will post some results of my own later. I played a +2 speed custom game vs Ceneraii on Syrtis for testing purposes and it ended with me having 151 APM and Ceneraii 57 APM, obviously it's not a very standard situation though. I'm very interested in seeing what kind of APM other people get in a controlled environment (ladder)!
My results:
170 Williamson's
159 Roanoke
167 Regor
162 Syrtis
154 Bermuda
151 Bermuda
