2015 Ongoing Clan Competitions

Alright people time to make this happen! I've had members and leaders from a different clans come to me and discuss the possibilities of having Clan Competitions.

The few active clans out there really have problems trying to get decent clan matches going, where they can all play as a team against another well playing team; This is where the idea spawns from to have Ongoing Clan Competitions.

All us clannies would really loves more Clan vs Clan games, but our numbers are sometimes few - and the ratings don't always match up for balanced games; leaving the only option to sacrifice on some level or another.


First off, I'd like to see how many players/clans would be interested in joining this ongoing competition and are able to organize and rally to the cause when planned. Second, we would need to brainstorm on the Form this will take; Maps, team compositions(team rating allotment), size of teamgames (#of players, different map sizes)

Basically, I want to put a fair amount of time into organizing and brainstorming before even committing to anything - We want to make this epic, and professional - just like all you clannies! So bring forth your ideas, suggestions, players and excitement! We need it all!

I beleive that a feature could possibly be added to the FaF Client that would make organising clan tournements/Competitions much easier. maybe some sort of auto balancer aswell to solve balance issues? (Queried).

But i bump this post so much as healthy clan competition will help make the game more fun and competitive as a whole and also help to encourage the clanless people into existing clans or even create their own attempting to get a piece of the action...

We could have a clan ladder system if someone could code it. Maybe we need to have clans able to team up if one clan doesn't have enough players online to fill a game?

Need some type of encouragement for playing. Maybe avatars or casting clan games.
Maybe a clan rating system would be beneficial.

Maybe Have a clan find games tab where only clans can host and join.

SGI is obviously going to win all these, but I still think they're a great idea. Clans need more attention, and there's not enough activity between them as there should be.

I don't think I will be playing if there's a limit like this. What's the point of competition if you are not allowed to become good? I get it why you'd want this, but you can hardly call it a clan tournament if there's limits such as this. Maybe 'average joe clan tournament' at best

Well I definitely want EVERYONE included, and that was the aim with that sentence; The real thought behind it was having a Total Team rating, and that way even lower/mid rated members of clans can get in on the action and contribute in a meaningful way. In no way do we want the higher tier of players excluded either, and we must also make it competitive everywhere possible.

Maybe there could be Clan Teams? The teams fit into three categories; using either total rating or median rating to set them apart. The different teams would compete against their counterparts and their wins be would credited point(s). So at the same time, or at the same stage of the competition we could have 3 teams from one clan facing off against another clans' 3 teams. Perhaps on the same map, or different ones. As I'm writing this though, two categories would probably be enough. ie, U1600, O1600 - for average. Just an idea, or example of what we "could" do. If a clan doesn't have a team for the higher rated game - They would still compete with a team from the lower bracket, or choose a forfeit(loss). Everything at this point is open to suggestion and change, these are just ideas. Ideally I'd like to coordinate its formation with figureheads from each clan that is willing to participate, so we can make sure everyone has a chance to add their own personal touch of epic.


I was also planning this to be a long term competition/on going, and at this point everything is in the formation stage and anyone who speaks up here will be contributing to its final shape. So please, everyone/anyone - don't let some bad ideas turn you away, help us make this something epic for everyone!
