ACU/SACUs shooting while (partly) in water yet invisible?

Hi,
is it normal that an ACU/SACUS can shoot me while not entirely in water and still I cannot see them (happened on Canis)?
(replay ID: #3663923; see 28:30+ min, top left corner with my chicken vs. SACU; later also vs. ACU)
Similiar with our chicken right side ~31 min. It is kinda weird I they don't see the t4 shooting (!) while having visuals.
Also, there was GC in the left top corner that was being built - I can see it from the builders point of view but not from mine (38:20 min). Doesn't a GC stick out of the water?

Here you can see another example. Two chickens fire at mine while mine doen't fire back - despite being in attack range and no fog of war in sight :/

You need sonar/omni to be able to see underwater units but you don't need omni/radar to see units on the ground.

How can a chicken be considered an underwater unit when it is shooting from the surface while being in vision range?

Its feet is on the seabed, thus it is underwater and you will need watervision to see them.

Some people praise this game for the realism and logic in it. How can a giant robot be invisible/cloaked because its toes are under water. It fires at me and yet it is cloaked because his feet are under water while the majority of the robot is not. Sounds really fishy to me. I even see the origin of the incoming fire. Saying it is invisible because you have no sonar seems very stupid to me. A battleship is visible too despite partly being underwater. A surfaced sera destroyer is visible too when shooting. Subs? Sure, they are invisible for they are under water entirely - but a chicken is not! :lol:

yeah but it's rediculous you can ground fire right where you see the projectiles coming from.

this is bad game design, the game shouldn't force you into tedious micro. the game should be playable for pros and noobs alike.

exactly ! you noob you build a sonar, you pro you can afford to not build one and ground fire. Let pro do the micro if they think they can save the mass for a sonar.

we should make visible anything above water. if not possible, at least make exp (or sacu...) that are in water requiring radar to be able to shoot unit on land. to make it even. (even if getting radar is easier on canis than the sonar (few spot where sonar is buildable)).
