First off, I hope it's okay to do this; if I don't, my apologies and just let me know.
I thought it would be cool to aggregate some data on how often people play and how good they are. FAF can obviously be a very competitive game -- we have tournaments, a ladder system, people who get bitter when they lose, people who like to stack the game in their favor... *ahem* anyways, spurred partly by a few other threads about "It's okay to be 1k+" and "If you're 1500+ you're in the top 100" (the 100th best ladder player currently stands (I am looking at it) at 1527), and partly by my own curiosity, I thought we might do a survey of sorts.
Theoretically this could all be gathered by aggregating replay data, but that's probably a violation of some law somewhere, and this is easier.
So, without further ado, here is the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1iAxbSf ... 8/viewform
Once we get 25+ responses I'll make fancy charts and stuff and link those too. It's kinda hard to see correlations in the read-only view of the results.
Also, I acknowledge this is going to be subject to the participant bias -- for instance, that the number of people who check the box for "I read the forums" will be very close to 100% -- and that people may lie, etc. My intent is not to have a perfect representation of everyone who plays... I'm mostly just curious.
