Use patch 3612 in solo/skirmish

Postby necroproject » 07 Apr 2012, 15:13

Hello,

I'm very found of your work done to make FA still alive ! But i'd also like to be able to play, as it was before with the "binFAF" folder, with the last 3612 patch and its improvements in solo and skirmish against AI without launching the lobby but directly the game as i was playing solo.

Are there some files i could copy somewhere ?

Thanks you very much.

C:\ProgramData\FAF\binFA.exe

or just BETA menu, then Show logs in the lobby and it will open the dir where you'll see the bin folder

Perhaps the answer you gave was mine too, but I'm not sure. I basically want the ability to play solo games utilizing the mods and upgrades from FAF, but I don't always have time to play the entire thing in one sitting. Is there a way to play a skirmish through FAF that I can save? This would also translate to saveable multiplayer games that take a long time.

Like Raging Squirrel said,

If you run this then you can play local games and LAN games without having to run the lobby.

If you can, try to go through FAF. It won't consume any bandwidth on LAN.

BUT there will be more users on the lobby, and it helps making FAF better.

Would that allow me to play Murder Party or Nomads or other game modes?

The only way to support FAF pushing constantly the boundaries of FA is to not do it and go through the lobby.

I don't have a problem using the lobby, I would just like the ability to play longer games solo and with my friends. If it isn't possible it's not a huge deal. Would it be possible to add support for that into the lobby at some point? Either way, I will continue to use the lobby whenever I can :-)
