Pathfinding suggestion

Its not actually a balancing thing, but I think it fits in here better than in the bug report section.

I had an idea yesterday: how about making engis and the acu walk/drive through t1 pgs, as they often walk/drive 5 times around a pg, or get stuck, or need hours to do what you actually told them for whatever reason.

The only problem imo is that you maybe could hide engis in pgs then.

Good idea, but I think we should only make the ACU to be able to walk over pgens and stuff. I remember trying to run away from an air snipe to get under shields only to find my commander humping everything he sees along the way.

Hmm. I'd have to double check the code, but this should be possible... to give acus to same movement as experimentals... where if they can't find a way around something they kinda barge through it.

hum this is a pretty big change :O
pgen maybe, but it would really annoy me if it can walk over the walls, over any other building than pgen.

That's just setting them to "Massive" I think. You'll just have to make sure that they don't crush everything they step on, though.

Gowerly, I checked this... I think you just have to set it to 'EXPERIMENTAL' because the fatboy is not massive (does not damage any enemies it runs over)

Also, in the supcom beta, the UEF ACU used to be Massive... and could kill other ACUs by walking into them, it was hilarious

Make sure you can not walk over factories with ACU. Otherwise you can stay in middle and units cant hit you? Not sure where the shots are targetted on an ACU, is it the head?

We'd have to create a new unit type and hope that the pathing is done in lua. I can check this out.
