I would still fix the hitbox and lower the range, just because they can not slaughter the acu so easily anymore it does not mean they should be allowed to outrange aa.

But they should not be stopped by one or two mobile t1 aa, thats why they should recieve more hp as return.

I encourage you to test it in the form provided and post feedback. I will then make additional changes as required.

Incredible,

YOU REALLY REALLY don't want the mercys.You aren't allowed to nerf them and now >>they'll hit like a shotgun blast instead.<<Well it's a fantastic idea but I'm not up to do it in the next or another patch.

But why you didn't made a mod that just removes the mercys? :) I guess all are happy then.

I had already suggested this idea, make a specific micro mod. That way players who are not capable of stopping mercies can just take the mod and play without them. no need to wait for a patch from Zep.

Definitely a cool idea and since the Aeon do not have a T2 bomber they probably could use a AOE weapon at T2 anyways.
On a side note though, the only thing that has been changed on the mercy since 3598 was its fuel was increased from 70 to 110, so the only thing that changed is that is easier to hoard large numbers of them before they run out of fuel and crash. My point is, it may be possible to balance them just by increasing the build time or playing around with the fuel time some more.

I got another idea - If a mercy is aimed at a high HP unit that it does not overkill all those 8 missiles hit it. However say you fire a mercy at a group of pillars the mercys missiles split up into two groups of four and kill two different pillars. or another example say you fire one at a group of mantis. each of those little missiles hits a separate mantis.

This will mean they are not only useful for sniping. Kinda like a balance between the way the are in your mod and the way they are now so they wont be useless vs ACUs. I do think they need a range reduction to give AA more time to target but not much more of a nerf than that
