MMLs

Postby FunkOff » 04 Jul 2012, 17:19

When is the last time somebody saw MMLs in play?

With the exception of the Cybran Viper used by TAG_ROCK, does anybody use any MMLs?

Also of note:
Seraphim MML missile doesn't track sufficiently and wildly misses its mark if the MML is facing away from the target when the missile is fired.
UEF MML fires infrequently enough that one TMD can stop several UEF MMLs.
Aeon MML missile fires a low-enough arc that it commonly impacts terrain, similar to the cybran Rhino.

These problems should all be addressed imo.

I assume you're not including the UEF T3 MML in this?

One MML is pretty useless, but enough of them make it nearly impossible to turtle effectively.
Once you hit the right numbers then the TMD AI makes it cost ineffective to try to build TMD to hole up.

i used aeon mml s . but in 1v1 games for more they are not made. if enemy has tmd you need to stop them and let them shoot all the same time at once. after you ve done this they have no disadvantage to other faction launchers.

now with shields effectiveness reduced, I would think MMLs should be better. But I didnt have time by now to give it a try.

MML Damage is fine, so is their range (maybe it could be increased by 5-10 points, but not much). Of course tmd is effective against them, but tmd isnt that cheap and if you have enough MML you will finally break through (if not vs aeon)

Aeons have better tools to break shields.

With the changes to shields, MMLs will need a bit more time of viewing. Since before shields countered them as well as TMD. But if there were to be a change, I'd make them cheaper. They are silly easy to kill and would take up more space so be more vulnerable to aoe damage. That would also give them a better chance at overwhelming TMD.

the problem is TMD is very cost effective - As it should be. A few surprise mmls before any tmd is up can do quite a bit of damage rather quickly to a small firebase but after that until you get spearheads they are kind of useless again. The exception to this rule is Cybran vs UEF. Then just spam mmls all you want and watch shitty AI combines with splitting missiles and shitty TMD roll over bases
