the aeon destr has lower dps if you only count the oblivion cannon. So in a straight up ranged fight it still has a disadvanted even if all shotts would hit.

This is note true. The shot does 1000 damage, making it very front-loaded. Cybran destroyer does much less damage and is not nearly as front-loaded. Remember, in 1 second, Aeeon destroyer does 1000 damage against cybran destroyer, which only does 250. That is 4x the DPS for short-duration engagements. This is not a small advantage.

Hm ok it has a bit higher hitpoints. If you manage to get into close range you're good too, because of the depth charge.

Yes, it has more damage when it gets close and is sturdier too. The aeon destroyer is very good when it hits. Increasing shot speed would make it very very powerful.

I tested Cybran navy vs UEF with someone I cant remember who, for about an hour.
We tested all Kinds of combos, conclusion was UEF was better, they kicked ass.

Also remember UEF destroyer can shoot backwards and cybran cant, Once cybran destroyer gets into battle vs UEF it cant run away.

Yea I don't see it as an issue either. Also remember UEF has the T3 battlecruiser and their T2 navy is pretty well off with shield boats.
