ringh now when i think about it, that should happen for all shields, and especially should happen more for cyb with epic 9 splash, but i am not sure if it does happen.

something that i might add: all t2 shields recharge times are below 20 secodns, except for ED4 (exactly 20 sec) and ED5.
so it should be possible to defend however long from single emissary by just having t2 shields over anything, HOWEVER if shell lands on the shield edge close to the ground and shield will fall, then emissary will do damage under that shield, and i beleave if you try covering t3 pgens by t2 shield then 1rst shell will get your t2 shield to low HP, second shell breaks it and deals damage to pgen, idk how other arty would behave in that case tho...
aslo emissary is accurate enought so you can simply target ACU in enemy base and win

yeah, i would say aeon seems to be OP in this case

Was this the random trivia that said a single aeon t2 shield will protect vs an emissary, but multiple wouldn't?

Ah, that might be true if the shared damage keeps them from dipping down the first shot.

Naah it does full damage but because of the slow firerate, it cannot penetrate any shield that has less than 12k hitpoints. The fully depleted shield will always regenerate between shots. That's a definite downside for a 73k mass weapon

So fun fact, aeon t2 shield will block emissary, t3 will not. :D

same range to all T3 arty...(but that would buff Cybrans so...) , current balance is bullshi*

when I play cybran I just get Aeon engi and build Emissari

Im afraid not.

Ranges:
Disruptor: 700
Duke: 750
Hovo-wotsit: 825
Emissary: 900 (wat?)

Mass cost:
Disruptor: 69,600
Duke: 72,000
hovo-wotsit: 70,800
EMissary: 73,200

Difference between cybran <-> emissary - casual 3.6k mass.
Difference between duke <-> emissary - casual 1.2k mass.

Why build a duke when an emissary is just 1.2k mass more? D=

It's got to the point that whilst i consider cybran, UEF, and seraphim artilleries to be generally comparable(ly crap), I'm wondering whether there is any justification for the emissary being pretty much blowing the others out of hte water.

High range
High damage
High accuracy
Low AoE.

hits twice - So it can blow up the shield generator after depleting the shield.
One could argue that theyre the most expensive. But if the game has gotten to the artillery stage, the couple of thousand mass required between the cheapest (cybran-disruptor) and the most expensive (aeon - emissary) has, to me, rarely seemed to be of consequence.

I don't quite understand why this artillery piece should be as strong as it is. Give that title to the UEF or something D=
