The only issue is that they cost a lot of e (for their dps/hp). Also their BT is even better than inte (dps/hp wise).
+ they have got insane speed advantage.

I tell a lie. I don't like sera's gunships, i'd like them to get buffed in stats, no/minor price increase.

Restorers are in an excellent place right now, much like broadswords you build them when you have air superiority, and you don't lose it after either as they are aa gunships, as opposed to wailers.

They are not niche at all, they are still an excellent unit to use, just at the right times

I still think they could use some increase in speed though. But yeah they are in a much better spot than they used to be, no arguing here. I just dont see them much use since people tend to prioritize ground more.

Also speed would help them a bit in a big maps like Seton's, too. Maybe they dont need that though.

I think they could use a slight buff with their a2g weapon or speed or something because they are really, really niche ATM. Im not even sure if they have an edge on a gunship to gunship fight on the same mass equivalent at the moment.

I'd also see Sera and Aeon to be tweaked so they'd be more diverse but thats for another topic.

I also have a habit of investing extra mass into projects like nukes late game which I'm guessing plays a role (mass for nuke+launcher = mass for some large amount of ASF).

Might take you up on that lesson morax - thanks for the offer.

more range mean more overkill, but still mean more range ;)
the range on the restorer is a really important asset of the unit.

Anyways, restos should not be giving you as much issues as you are seeing codepants. If you want training on how to air micro against them hit me up any time.

Side note to Iszh's statement: Restos will not be balanced. The general player base still think it's okay to send in an exp by itself *cough* K240 *cough,* without any support whatsoever, so when they watch restos, percies, etc, etc take them down they blow a gasket and cry "foul balance."

In teamgames you can built restos to stop enemy ground exp units and while spending mass in ag weapons you still increase your aa capabilities. They do less dps vs air compared to asf but they take less damage because they are standing in the air and planes fly by very often. In fact it can happen that lots of asf target the gunships and are killed be the enemy asf.

Btw according to values Continental are nearly as good as restos. Just less ground dps and aa range. If you take 1,3 mass/e income they look like this compared to restos:

Continental - Restorer
1920mass - 1200mass
60 ag dps - 120 ag dps
7500 hp - 6000 hp
226 aa dps - 140 aa dps

Continental vs Restorer.JPG

Ok my post might sound a bit confusing. I wanted to show people who are complaining about restos op are talking about the aa abilities. People who want to buff them see the very weak ag weapon. In combination this thing is fine. And the aa Opness i cannot see because according to math continental is better. It has more aa dps and short range which means less overkill with rockets. It has bubbles to protect each other. It is simply never used for beeing an aa gunship.

Philip, try a less ideal situation such as a 3:2 ratio, asf:restos? You also need to factor in that most air players will "asf block" the incoming asf to protect the restos. I'd say a straight-up sandbox doesn't really replicate the situation too good...
