Use your username (not email) and password to log into the client.
Try logging in on the website https://faforever.com/ with the same credentials to see if that works.

i do, and i have, but the thing is this,.. if it cant link without being public then i did that part right, ... right?
so why does it say invalid user/pword lol

I can't log in either ...
Error You do not own Forged Alliance on Steam or your profile is private. Please set your games list temporarily to public.

i did the link but i cant sign into the client itself.
